Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatar: The Legend of Aang/The last Air Bender is an Emmy award-winning american animated series that aired for three seasons on the nikelodian television network and on Nicktoons Network. The show is set in an Asian-influenced world of martial arts and elemental manipulation; the series follows the adventures of Aang and his friends, who try to save the world from war with the Fire nation. The show's Protagonist Aang is trapped in an iceberg when he is found by two members of the Southern water Tribe, Katara and Sokka. After being freed from the iceberg, Katara and Sokka join Aang on a long journey across the globe; their ultimate goal is to help Aang acquire the skills to defeat the Fire Lord and end the war. In the series' terminology, each episode is referred to as a "chapter", and each season as a "book."

Avatar: The Last Airbender
is co-created and produced by Michae Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzo at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, California. According to Bryan Konietzko, the concept of the program was conceived in Spring 2001, when he took an old sketch of a balding, middle-aged man; he re-imagined the character as a child, and the show began to develop. Bryan drew the character herding bison in the sky, and showed the sketch to Mike DiMartino. At the time, Michael was studying a documentary about explorers trapped in the South Pole. Konietzko described their early development of the concept.
These are the Aang's companion that would help him in his journey on saving the planet from chaos.

I have already finished watching chapter 1-3. Now I'm eagerly waiting for the next chapter, this episode is about finding the mother of zuko, I think, and that wont be easy; more new enemies and problems will be encounter. Thats all for now! thanks for visiting.

Even before "High School Musical 3" hits movie theaters in the fall, Disney Channel is starting work on "High School Musical 4."

"We are writing 'High School Musical 4,' " Disney Channel Worldwide president Rich Ross said Tuesday after a presentation at a midtown Manhattan recording studio. It's likely to be a TV movie unlike "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," though that could change. Filming begins in two weeks in Utah.

There's no word on whether the cast and behind-the-scenes talent will gather again for "HSM4," though some characters introduced in the third go-round likely will star in the fourth.

"Are we going to have all the cast back? Probably not," Ross said. "Will we have some of them? I hope so."

Even for a channel that has huge properties in "Hannah Montana" and "The Cheetah Girls," among others, "HSM" is big business. The second TV movie shattered cable TV records last summer with a premiere watched by 18.6 million viewers and it has been a hit internationally as well. It boosted Disney Channel to the No. 1 position among cable networks in primetime in 2007.

Ross said that after the original "HSM," he went to Disney Channel entertainment president Gary Marsh and asked whether there was "a new story to tell" in the saga that launched the careers of Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu.
"We have learned that just putting a number next to a title is a very old idea," Ross said. "We have to have a new story."

Marsh answered affirmatively with "HSM2" and later, "HSM3." Now Marsh and Ross are confident that the "HSM4" script is going well.

If you say something long enough – no matter how absurd, illogical or wrong it may be – someone just might start to believe it. That's the only way to explain how the open–wheel folks at the Indy Racing League came to implement its latest rule change: From now on, the minimum weight for IRL cars must include the driver.
What's the big deal? Well, it just so happens that the lightest driver on the circuit is a woman. And not just any woman. It's Danica Patrick, whose hotness (off the track more than on it) has made her the most popular driver in open–wheel racing.
At just 100 pounds, she weights 20 pounds less than the two other women on the circuit, Milka Duno and Sarah Fisher. The heaviest driver, according to the IRL guide, is 165–pound Ed Carpenter.
The rationale for the move? Patrick told USA Today that she asked IRL honchos for a reason for the change. "They didn't really have one," she said.
I guess it wouldn't exactly have been smart for her to just call a lug a lug. But I will. It's stupid, and it sounds like good' ole hateration.
There was buzz in IRL garages about Danica's slight size providing her with some unfair advantage almost since the moment she burst onto the scene – and we do mean burst! – three years ago by becoming only the fourth woman to qualify for the Indy 500 and the first to actually lead the race. She also finished fourth, the best showing ever by a woman. Danica even admits that in a sport where less weight can mean higher speeds, being light offers a slight edge.
In 2005, rival teams were outed in an AP story, saying Danica might gain as much as one mph due to her size.
Whatever. If it were that much an advantage, why has Danica not won a single race in 47 tries?
It might be fair to call Danica, one of the highest–earning female athletes on the planet, the Anna Kournikova of the grease set since her results have not yet lived up to the hype. But it's pretty hard not to think this rule change was just the sad result of the constant whining of her competitors.
The IRL took great pains to prevent us from calling this the "Danica Rule." Circuit spokesman John Griffin said the new rule would lessen the disparity between the lightest and heaviest drivers, which can be as much 100 pounds. (Have the IRL's tubbies not heard of Jenny Craig?)
Uh–huh.
Look, I fully understand efforts to create a level playing field, whether in racing (NASCAR has weight requirements) or elsewhere in our society. Disparities that provide one group with an unfair advantage over another – in sports, in the workplace, in the classroom, wherever – are growing more and more outdated with each passing day. Thankfully.
But throw in the potential new NFL rule banning hair from hanging from under a player's helmet beyond his name, and I began to wonder whether sports, which typically has been a stage for change in America, is lurching backward just as the rest of the nation slowly – and almost historically – moves ahead.

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (AP)—WTA head Larry Scott said Thursday that he strongly disagrees with comments made by Richard Williams, father of Serena and Venus, regarding racism on the women’s tour.
Saying he was disappointed by Williams’ recent remarks during an interview in India, Scott said in a statement: “The Tour has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to racism, and I have previously let Mr. Williams know that he should let me know if he ever had evidence of racist comments or acts in women’s professional tennis.”
While his daughters were playing earlier this month in Bangladore, India, where Venus reached the quarterfinals and Serena won the title, Williams told the Deccan Herald, “Well, I’m black and I’m prejudiced, very prejudiced. People are prejudiced in tennis. I don’t think Venus or Serena was ever accepted by tennis. They never will be.”
He said the media treated his daughters unfairly, that it was “the worst media job that they have done on any human being in the world,” and that if he were Serena and Venus, he would have quit playing.
“But if you get some little white no-good trasher in America like Tracy Austin or Chris Evert, who cannot hit the ball, they (the media) will claim this is great,” he said.
Scott said, “Champions like Chris Evert and Tracy Austin have done so much to help build women’s tennis to where it is today, and it is regrettable that anyone would criticize them in this manner.”
The Williams sisters haven’t played at Indian Wells since 2001. They were booed after Venus pulled out of a semifinal match against her sister, citing knee tendinitis. Serena went on to win the title, but was booed during and after the championship match.

Once again our own Manny Paquiao will stood up and fight again on the ring, with his rival Juan Manuel Marquez. Since the controversial draw fight between the two boxers last 2004, boxing enthusiast has been waiting for a rematch. Fighter Paquiao and Marquez both has unfinished business to do and I think its about time to end it. Now, the time has finally come, tomorrow @ March 15, 2008 the fight of Paquiao and Marquez and will be held at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Everyone has been waiting for this fight, the boxing society and especially Filipinos are thrillingly waiting for this magnificent battle. What’s funny about this fight is that, the Armed Forces of the Philippines has declared a ceasefire, for their troops to watch their boxing hero Manny Paquiao on its fight, was told by the chief of staff. Imagine that a ceasefire just to watch Manny’s fight, that’s how powerful Paquiao is(He’s like a hero to Filipinos).

I still haven’t mentioned that their would be big people from the Philippines who would be watching this fight namely, our own Vice President Noli de Castro and would be sitting at the $600 ringside with the other Filipino politicians. And also Filipino Show Biz personnel would also be watching to be precise, Aga Muhlach and his wife, Gutierrez family and lots more. Singing the Philippine National Anthem would be Ciara, I hope nothing goes wrong this time(wish her luck), with Cris Aquino carrying the Philippine flag.

Here are the records of both boxers :
Paquiao has 45 wins, 3 defeats and 35 knockouts on the other hand Marquez has 48 wins and 3 defeats also has a 35 knockouts. Both fighter has identical records, I believe that this fight would be one of the biggest fight this year and could be the fight of the year and if Paquiao wins, this would be the best year for him.

You are the pride of the Philippines, show Marquez what you’ve got and make him REGRET that he accepted the rematch! We are with you Manny, may you win and retain the glory! God be with you. Even if you lose, you’d still be and will always be our champ.

One of the people who admirers Manny Paquiao’s boxing skills, Sean Tetsuya.

A 5,200 year old piece of pottery from Iran has been discovered to embody the oldest known animation in the world -- a wild goat eating vegetation:
The wild goat motif can be seen on Iranian pottery dating back to the 4th millennium BCE, as well as jewellery pieces especially among Cassite tribes of ancient Luristan. However, the oldest wild goat representation in Iran was discovered in Negaran Valley in Sardast region, 37 kilometers from Nahok village near Saravan back in 1999. The engraved painting of wild goat is part of an important collection of lithoglyphs dating back to 8000 BCE.
However, wild goat representation with a tree is associated with Murkum, a mother goddess who was worshipped by all the Indo-Iranian women of the Haramosh valley in modern Pakistan, which culturally had closer ties with Indus and subsequently the Burnt City civilisations, than Mesopotamia, which could had influenced the ancient potter who made this unique piece.

This may or may not come as a shocker, but according to a recent FTC survey on identity theft, 16 percent of the victims said their information was stolen by people they knew, which included friends, relatives, neighbors, and coworkers. This is very important because it serves as a reminder that we need to take extra precautions whether we're at home or at work. It's probably a good idea to disable cookies, so you don't save login and password information of your accounts, and you should never keep sensitive information where thieves can easily find it.
I've gotten several emails from readers asking me how they can find out if someone has accessed their personal email account, so I thought I'd point you to an excellent post written by PCWorld's Erik Larkin on how to set a hacker alarm on your web mail box. This is a good way to find out if anyone besides you is logging into your email account.
Here's the gist:
Open an account with Onestatfree.com, and use a disposable e-mail address to complete the registration process.
You'll receive an email from OneStat with an attached file. Save the file, note the account number, and then delete the email.
Rename the file with a name that would catch a hacker's eye like "AccountPasswords." Save the .txt file as an .htm file so it opens up in a web browser.
Send an email with the .htm file to the account you want to monitor. Use a subject title that is eye catching.
Wait for the hacker to take the bait. If the attachment is opened by anyone else but you, the hit counter will record their IP address.
Hackers are very clever, so you want to change your password frequently to something that's a little harder to crack.

Blu-ray

So here’s the skinny - we get this email from the public re-lations department for the Blu-ray Association asking if we’d be willing to come down to LA and spend 2 days in intense meetings with BD reps. Now the most recent info says that BD is outselling HD DVD 2 to 1 and there's a ton of new titles coming out for the holidays - blockbusters that can meet or exceed the recent buzz of the Transformers HD DVD. So, since we’re curious by nature, we say yes and the next thing we know we’re inside a lounge that’s filled with Plasma screens running Blu-ray movies like Spider-Man 3, 300 and Chicken Little.

This is followed almost immediately by our being bused (along with a gaggle of other journalists) over to Twentieth Century Fox. Once there, we’re herded into a screening room and treated to scenes from their upcoming BD titles (looking forward to AVP: Alien Vs. Predator next year) - one being Live Free or Die Hard having a BD-Java game for trying to grab some hackers. Fox’s head of engineering points out that the high bit-rate insures a splendid, high-resolution image (he’s right), and that for those whose home theater has D-Box capabilities (which involves having the seat you’re in jump around like a bucking bronco), the technology is right there inside the disc.

Location, location, location: Have your CPU tucked away in a cabinet or hidden on the floor beneath your desk? Well... don't. Your system needs plenty of ventilation to keep cool—about a foot on every side, according to smartcomputing. And while the floor may seem like a relatively cool place for your CPU, it's also a breeding ground for dust and dirt, which could block your system's all-important cooling fans. Finally, keep your system in the shade—direct sunlight may brighten your mood while you're working, but it's a serious no-no for your components.
Clean out the dust: Over time, a fair amount of dust and dirt will collect inside your CPU—it's inevitable—and as I just noted above, that dust will eventually start to block the cooling fans. Beat back the dust by opening your PC's case (don’t be afraid, a simple Philips-head screwdriver should do the trick) and spraying around the wires, circuits, and cooling fans with a can of compressed air (available at any office supply store). Squeamish about opening the case? Then just spray the cooling fans themselves—it's better than nothing. Got a laptop? Spray around the cooling vents on the sides and bottom. Repeat once a week or so and you should be in good shape.

Shut down your laptop at night: Leaving your desktop running all day, every day might be fine (if not terribly green). But laptops, which tend to run hot anyway, need their beauty sleep. If it's Miller time, go ahead and shut your notebook down for the night.

UFC fighter

After UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva choked out PRIDE middleweight champion Dan Henderson in the title unification match Saturday night, there weren’t a lot of people willing to argue his reputation as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
About the only person who would is Anderson Silva.
“I still don’t consider myself the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world,” he said after his second-round win via tapout with a choke, against the man whom most felt stylistically had the best chance to beat him. “Maybe when I retire, I can look back and then say I was the best pound-for-pound.”
Silva overwhelmed Henderson standing late in the round, putting him down after a hard knee and trade of punches. He got behind Henderson and threw numerous punches to the side of the head before he began working for a choke. With eight seconds left in the round, Henderson tapped out.
Henderson won the first round. After some wild action, he scored a takedown and connected with hammer fists to the side of Silva’s head for the remainder of the round.
Things changed in the second round, mostly standing, and it was Silva’s multipronged attack of punches, kicks and knees that overwhelmed Henderson.
Henderson had been finished only twice in his prior 28 matches, in a career loaded with foes who were top fighters and almost always bigger than him. Aside from the one takedown in the first round, and ensuing advantage period, the former Olympic wrestler wasn’t able to do a lot.
Henderson threw wildly, and Silva’s superior technical standup saw him score with many kicks, particularly in the second round as Henderson started to fade.
Fighters Jon Fitch, Diego Sanchez, Jorge Gurgel and Josh Koscheck were blown away by Silva and said his pound-for-pound reputation was deserved.
“Josh Koscheck and I shared a training room with him before the fight,” said Fitch, who put himself in line for a welterweight title match with a win over Chris Wilson on the show. “Watching him hit the (focus) mitts, I’ve never seen anyone, including pro boxers, with so much agility and hit with so much power.”
Koscheck said: “He’s a bad dude. I don’t want to fight him.”
Gurgel, the training partner of Rich Franklin, noted that he knows firsthand what Franklin can do, and it was scary how easy Silva made beating Franklin look in both of their previous matches.
The big question is who will face Silva next. At 21-4, Silva, who picked up $120,000 in added bonuses for both match of the night and best submission, feigned a frightened look when asked about moving to light heavyweight and facing Quinton Jackson, then said it wasn’t his immediate goal.
Another potential opponent at middleweight, Black House stablemate and unbeaten World Extreme Cagefighting champion Paulo Filho, was ruled out.
“It’s impossible,” Silva said through an interpreter. “We train together, and that’s not going to happen.”
UFC president Dana White said that in his mind, when the stars are aligned, any fight is possible.
Silva’s most logical next opponent for a UFC title match appears to be Yushin Okami (23-4). He knocked out Evan Tanner on Saturday night with a knee.
Okami is the last person to gain a win over Silva, in a Jan. 20, 2006, match in Honolulu, via disqualification for an illegal kick. Silva said that he didn’t have the rules properly explained to him, which caused the miscue. Silva has won seven fights since.
A crowd of 16,431 fans at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus were pro-Henderson when the match started. Even though Silva is from Brazil, he received only a smattering of boos when the match started and won over everyone by the end.

It’s not a huge revelation that the way to improve your writing skills and perfect them to their fullest potential, is to practice as much as possible. All writers know this obvious fact but so often we tend to stop for the day if what we think we wrote was shit or fail to even start writing until we can come up with what seems like an award winning idea for the context. But if we really want to find ways to improve our writing skills, it is imperative that we constantly remind ourselves that even if we write nothing worth developing three days in a row, at lease we are getting more and more writing practice and even if it sucks, it will still without a doubt contribute to the betterment of our skills. Maybe you don’t like what you’ve written down on the paper but what you write takes thoughts and thoughts of any sort lead to more thoughts just as creativity jumpstarts creativity and if you simply relax and keep trying when you think you’ve failed, something worthy is almost guaranteed to eventually spill out onto the page. It is hard sometimes, though, as a writer to make time to practice ways to improve your writing skills, especially if you seem to be in a writing funk. If you find yourself longing to practice writing more often but you see yourself pushing it off and procrastinating almost involuntarily for various reasons, it may be time to introduce another party into the picture. By another party, I am referring to a writing partner.

It's no secret of the dancers are among the greatest athletes out there, and they have some of the best bodies, as well. But can you get as fit as a dancer in your living room or den with one of the new interactive dance video games?
If you've been dancing with the stars and breaking a sweat, are you getting any fitter? Does it take the place of regular exercise? Will you get that dancer's body?
The American Council on Exercise (ACE) has helped answer some of these questions.
Specifically they asked: Can a video game make your kids more fit? ACE then put Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) to the test.
Researchers at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, focused on quantifying DDR's potential physical benefits and determined that it is comparable to many other aerobic activities and could result in significant weight loss if used regularly.
All subjects showed a significant increase in exercise intensity as they participated, with adults burning more overall calories than kids (based primarily on expected differences in body weight).
How much exercise did they actually get? According to ACE, the participants burned: 5.9 kcal/min on light mode (comparable to an easy walk on a treadmill), 6.7 kcal/min on standard mode (equivalent to riding a bike about 12 to 14 miles and hour) and 8.1 kcal/min on difficult mode (similar to the benefits obtained with high-impact aerobics). They used the Sony PlayStation version of the game for this particular study. You can get more information on the ACE website.
Obviously, different versions of this and other "interactive" games, especially those developed for use on the Nintendo Wii, have different potential levels of activity that one can experience.
Much depends on the level of intensity that the user provides. I have personally been impressed with the Wii. I've watched my kids in perpetual motion for hours at a time. Many of the games kept me moving as well, and they even offered some very basic fitness training and testing routines. I'm sure we'll see more of that.
Bottom line, it won't replace regular exercise any time soon but it sure beats sitting on the couch and being totally sedentary. I don't think you'll be seeing it in any upcoming Olympics, but you can experience a modest work out, while having fun, and enjoy the associated health benefits.
It also may have a place in activating certain diehard couch potatoes - both young and old. I have even witnessed, with my own patient population, that the appeal crosses a wide range of age groups from kids to their grandparents. They are enjoying this "movement" together.
I would encourage the video game industry to get even more creative in terms of activating our population. I believe the technology world in general has alot to offer in this regard and that we have only seen the beginning of a whole new positive use of technology for fitness and health.
Do you think these new video-active games, or as some have called them, "exergames," have a place in the world of exercise? What games would you like to see?

Page Rank

By sean

Google searches more sites more quickly, delivering the most relevant results.
Introduction

Google runs on a unique combination of advanced hardware and software. The speed you experience can be attributed in part to the efficiency of our search algorithm and partly to the thousands of low cost PC's we've networked together to create a superfast search engine.
The heart of our software is PageRank™, a system for ranking web pages developed by our founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University. And while we have dozens of engineers working to improve every aspect of Google on a daily basis, PageRank continues to play a central role in many of our web search tools.
PageRank Explained

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important." Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages' relative importance.

Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don't match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines dozens of aspects of the page's content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it's a good match for your query. Integrity
Google's complex automated methods make human tampering with our search results extremely difficult. And though we may run relevant ads above and next to our results, Google does not sell placement within the results themselves (i.e., no one can buy a particular or higher placement). A Google search provides an easy and effective way to find high-quality websites that contain information relevant to your search.

One heck of a movie!! This is so hillarious!

From the creators of Scary Movie and Date Movie comes this tongue-in-cheek parody of the sword-and-sandal epics, dubbed Meet the Spartans. The 20th Century Fox production is written and directed by the filmmaking team of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. Sure, Leonidas may have nothing more than a cape and some leather underwear to protect him from the razor sharp swords of his Persian enemies, but that won't stop the brave leader and his team of thirteen warriors from defending their beloved homeland against a powerful invading force that includes the likes of a mutant Paris Hilton, the Transformers, the Ghost Rider and Rocky Balboa. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide

Paper Wings

By sean

FYI, Paper Wings is sung byRise Against. I've first heard it on a Parkour video clip. It really sounds cool... A two thumbs up for me.. One of my fav. songs. Hope you like it.

One last thing I beg you please, just before you go
I've watched you fly on paper wings half way round the world until they
Burned up in the atmosphere and sent you spiraling down
Landed somewhere far from here with no one else around
To catch you falling down and I'm looking at you now

And I cant tell if you're laughing
Between each smile there's a tear in your eye
There's a train leaving town in an hour
It's not waiting for you and neither am I

Swing for the fences son, He must have told you once
That was a conversation you took nothing from so raise your
Glass now and celebrate excatly what you've done
Just put off another day of knowing where your from
You can catch up with yourself if you run

And I cant tell if you're laughing
Between each smile there's a tear in your eye
There's a train leaving town in an hour
It's not waiting for you and neither am I

Is this the life that you lead?
Or the life that's left for you?
Will you take the road thats been laid out before you
Will we cross paths somewhere else tonight? Somewhere else tonight

And I cant tell if you're laughing
Between each smile there's a tear in your eye
There's a train leaving town in an hour
It's not waiting for you and neither am I

And I cant tell if you're laughing
Between each smile there's a tear in your eye
There's a train leaving town in an hour
It's not waiting for you and neither am I
